Summary
Summary
I own the onboarding and paywall flow end-to-end: screen design, the icon system, transition/arrival animations, and the Rive & Lottie micro-animations that carry the emotional beats of the funnel. The three tests below show how that craft translates into measurable lift.
Gamification
Gamification
Proving users why they need BitePal through gamification
Hypothesis: People consistently misjudge how many calories their meals contain. Proving that gap in the moment — not just claiming it — makes the case for why they need an app to do it for them.
What I designed: A short quiz inside onboarding.
Results
+23% Conversion
+29% Revenue per user
Localized across 6 markets (US, UK, DE, FR, IT, LATAM)

Building Trust Before Asking Users to Pay
Hypothesis: Users are more willing to subscribe when they've already seen the app understands them. Giving them a personalized summary of their own data before the paywall builds trust and proves the plan was actually built for them.
What I designed: A new screen in onboarding summarizing the user's BMI, activity level, and diet — with a distinct visual state per BMI category, a matching icon set, and an arrival animation to make the reveal feel considered rather than templated.

Visual Proof That Increases Motivation to Buy
Added a feedback screen early in onboarding — a personalized summary of the user's BMI, activity, and diet — so the plan feels built for them, not generic.
